Metro Boomin Donates $100,000 To Hometown, Women-Focused Nonprofits

Metro Boomin has revealed new plans to give back to his community.

The acclaimed producer has detailed donating $100,000 to women-focused nonprofit organizations in his hometown of St. Louis. Per Variety, the 30-year-old launched the initiative in honor of his late mother, Leslie Wayne. In June 2023, Wayne was killed by her boyfriend, who also took his own life in the deadly incident.

“I’ve seen firsthand the work that goes into being a single mother. Mine was my inspiration and my hero,” detailed the Grammy-nomated artist in a statement. “It’s very important to me to pay it forward, because I see the same resilience and dedication in the women these organizations work with.”

According to the outlet, Metro Boomin partnered with Rung for Women and Amazon Access to deliver $20,000 individual checks to Almost Home, Diamond Diva Empowerment Foundation, the Haven of Grace, the Little Bit Foundation, and Parents as Teachers.

The funding was raised during the Leslie Joanne Soirée holiday event held at Rung in partnership with Amazon Access in December, and is set to help women alleviate struggles, including reducing debt and paying expenses like utilities, childcare, and rent.

“We are excited to partner with Metro Boomin in his work to lift up single mothers in St. Louis,” explained Rung’s president Leslie Gill. “Inspired by the remarkable love he has for his late mother, he is demonstrating a commitment to women and to our community.”

Metro Boomin is also set to soon launch his own nonprofit organization.

2024 has shaped up to be a busy year for the producer. Releasing two collaborative albums with Future, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, Metro Boomin also became the first-ever producer to take the stage at the Pyramids of Giza last month with two sold-out shows.

Metro Boomin and Future are set to head out on tour across North America this summer, supporting the two No. 1 albums. Kicking off in July, the duo are set to hit Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, and Las Vegas before wrapping in Vancouver, BC.
